广州市第二十一中学位于繁华的环市路上，是广东省一级学校。学校创办于1954年，至今已有50多年的历史，学校占地面积49667平方米，绿化面积10012.6平方米,校园绿树成荫，空气清新，雅洁幽静，是国家表彰绿色学校。学校是全国教育科学“十五”规划重点课题“四合一主体教学模式”实验学校，全国教育科学“十五”规划课题“英语报刊阅读教学新模式研究”实验学校，全国“心理健康教育研究与实验”学校，联合国教科文组织环境人口与可持续发展（EPD）教育项目学校，广州市首批心理健康教育示范学校。经过60多年的发展，21中已成为一所高质量、窗口式、有特色的现代化示范性省一级学校，以绿色教育为办学特色。现有初、高中教学班42个，在校学生2000多人。

学校拥有/球场、篮球场、排球场、羽毛球场、乒乓球场、游泳池等充足的运动场地；千兆电脑校园网通至每一个课室和办公室、全校44间教室全部配有多媒体教学平台并安装空调、61座的电子阅览室，以及地理、历史、物理、化学/生物等多个装备先进的专用室和实验室。学校围绕绿色教育特色，还专门设立了地理矿石展示区、射击场、环境科技教育展览馆、模拟生态园、生物园、校园绿化植物介绍区等。近300平方米的青春心理健康教育基地（心理咨询室、成长乐园活动室、青春健康教育展览馆），近100平方米的禁毒展览馆和开展英语综合活动课程的“英语城”也为学生进行现代人文教育提供重要的场室。新建成的图书科技楼里拥有近10万册图书和35800册电子t物，满足同学们阅读的需要。而具有现代化设施建筑面积5000平方米的体育馆已通过立项，正在筹建中。

学校围绕“推进现代人文教育，打造现代社会公民”的办学思路，制订学校发展的五年规划。现有教师队伍结构合理、敬业爱岗、业务优良，其中硕士研究生和研究生主干课程班结业39人，先后参加省普教系统“百千万人才工程”培训以及各级骨干教师培训15人。近五年来，教师有376人次在全国、省、市的各项教学成果评比中获奖，发表教育论文175篇，有123人次获得省、市和区优秀教师的光荣称号。

教育教学面向全体学生，因材施教，注重提高综合素质，英语、历史、政治等学科教学成绩突出，成为强势学科。高考成绩逐年上升，升大率超过98％m本科率远远高于同生源组学校的平均水平，近年进入全省高考单科或总分前100名的共29人次，其中800分以上的6人次；初三毕业考成绩稳步提高，多年获得初中毕业班工作一等奖，06年中考的AB率高达75％，其中有9位同学的政治、物理名列全市第一，居同类学校的前列。初高中毕业班的升学指标均超过省一级学校的评估标准。学校坚持以德立校，以质强校，把养成教育和青春心理健康教育作为德育工作的切入点，充分利用德育网络资源，着眼于全面提高未成年人的思想m德素质，发挥了学生自我管理的主体作用，注重培育优良班风学风，创设有利于学生健康成长的人文环境，形成具有特色的思想教育活动序列，而青春心理健康教育也成为学校一道亮丽的风景线。近五年，学生参加全国、省、市、区的学科、科技、文体竞赛均取得优异成绩，共获奖587项。

Brief introduction:

GZ No. 21 Middle School, founded in 1954, is located in downtown area ofGuangzhou. And it covers an area of 49667 square meters with a green area of 10012.6 square meters. It is a complete educational facility with 42 classes of more than 2,000 students. Its fame in education over the last 50 years since its foundation has witnessed the efforts of the whole staff during this period. Over the past 10 years, it’s been trying out several National Educational Science Projects, such as4 in1 Teaching Method, English Newspaper Reading, Psychological Education, as well as the EPD project of UNESCO.

GZ No. 21 Middle School boasts a well equipped campus. Children educated at our school are able to enjoy such activities as football, basketball, badminton and table tennis. A swimming pool is also located on the premises. A stadium of 5000 square meters is being planned. Students can enjoy reading and search for information in a library with 10 thousand books and 35800 e-books. The classrooms are equipped with multi-media equipment and some are specifically designed rooms for different subjects, providing more attractive classes. Permanent facilities like the geology exhibition, the simulated ecosystem, theEnglishTownand the student counseling department are the highlights of this peaceful place.

Taking all-students development as its priority, the school goes all out to develop students’ talent and focus on the improvement of their overall quality. We have reached a great achievement in the teaching of English, history, and politics and so on, making these subjects our strength. In the past few years, the teaching quality has greatly been improved. With a percentage of over 98%, its university enrollment is higher than any other local school. With our effort, the school has won social praise. In recent years, there are 29 students who topped the first100 inprovincial college entrance examination and 6 students with high marks of over 800. Meanwhile, due to the achievement in the entrance exam to the senior school, the school has secured the first place for years in teaching evaluation performed by the education department of the city. The enrollments in both senior and middle school have surpassed the evaluation standard for provincial first-class schools.
